About
Christian currently resides in New York City where he is a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. His newest musical, MY 80-YEAR-OLD BOYFRIEND, written with collaborator Ed Bell for Broadway's Charissa Bertels, was presented as a reading at the Emerging Artist Theater's New Work Series. He was recently seen on stage in Martin Charnin's REAL TO REEL along side Shelly Birch and John Treacy Egan. This summer he was commissioned to compose music for Seattle Shakespeare Company's Wooden-O production of JULIUS CAESAR, and and he also teamed with Project Jericho to use theatre to help at risk families reconnect.
Christian first set foot on the stage at the age of four in Betty Damiano’s School of Dance in Kellogg, Idaho. At the age of five, his family moved to the Seattle area where grew up playing piano and oboe, singing in and arranging for jazz choirs and playing club soccer. A summerstock production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC marked Christian’s first foray into the world of theatre. From then on, he pursued theatrical opportunities whenever he could. He attended The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois before transferring to Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio to earn his BFA in Acting-Musical Theatre.​
​​​​Returning to the Puget Sound after college, he quickly became part of the Seattle theatre scene, starring as Vinnie LoBianco in ONCE UPON A TIME IN NEW JERSEY and John Brooke in LITTLE WOMEN. He has been seen in many 5th Avenue Theatre productions including Patti Colombo’s SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS and Mark Hoebee's DAMN YANKEES. He also play Charlie Chaplin in the Pre-Broadway tryout of Kathie Lee Gifford’s musical SCANDALOUS, starring Carolee Carmello.
Christian is a nationally recognized playwright and composer, earning awards for music, lyrics, and playwriting from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Awards. He was also a finalist for the David Mark Cohen Playwriting Award and the National Playwriting Award. He was the inaugural recipient of Music Theatre Venture's Young Creator's Award, which facilitated the creation of A BEAUTIFUL END. He is currently collaborating on a new musical about Toulouse-Lautrec and writing a youth show entitled THE COMPLETELY COOL ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL FOR FAIRY TALE CELEBRITY. He has also worked as a mentor for the Village Theatre Company Originals Program, helping young writers create their own original musicals.
Previous directing and choreography credits include RING OF FIRE, INTO THE WOODS, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAM COAT and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. As well as THE HOLLOW at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival where he was the recipient of the Best Director award for Region III.
